Hi, I’m Kim Palmer. I’m passionate about supporting children with vision impairments to thrive emotionally, socially, and independently. With over fifteen years experience working in education, and six specifically with children and young people with VI, I now specialize in providing one-on-one emotional literacy and emotional development support.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology and Learning Disability, which initially sparked and then deepened my passion for mental health and emotional development. My work focuses on helping children understand and express their emotions, build resilience, and develop the confidence to advocate for their own needs.
A key part of my approach is teaching children how to communicate clearly about their vision and the support they require—empowering them to navigate the world with greater independence and self-awareness. Each intervention is tailored to the child, creating a safe, supportive space where they feel heard, valued, and encouraged to grow.
